The company was founded in 1965 as Nevado Roses, focused on commodity trading within the flower industry. From 1996 to 2014 the company focused on diversification, investments and on large scale flower growing in Colombia, Ethiopia and Ecuador.
The Nevado Organization now has interests in real estate development, investing, brokerage, agriculture, flower retail, eCommerce, and property management. The company also brokers international real estate, with a focus on luxury boutique real estate.
With investments within Europe, the United States and globally, The Nevado Organization spans a wide variety of industries including real estate, construction, hospitality, entertainment, book and magazine publishing, online media, retail, agricultural pest management, flower breeding, financial services, food and beverages and online travel. The company also engages in retailing, having at various times sold fresh roses, and gourmet food items.

John Nevado is a Swedish entrepreneur, businessman, investor and philanthropist. He is the President and Chairman of The Nevado Organization. The group has investments in online eCommerce, media, brokerage, global agriculture companies, private equity, venture capital, financials and technology.
Mr Nevado is active on several corporate boards within the fields of agriculture, breeding, automated flower delivery, etc. Additionally John Nevado serves on a number of non-profit boards engaged in the fight against food injustice, HIV/Aids-documentation.
John Nevado has been honoured by the World Economic Forum in Davos as a Young Global Leader (YGL) since 2006. This honor is bestowed by the World Economic Forum each year to recognize the most distinguished young and inspiring leaders.
